How to use blue in your bedroom

Whether it’s inky indigo blues to add depth and atmosphere, or paler shades of duck egg blue to create a tranquil feel, the colour blue is a shade that works wonderfully in a bedroom.

Said to calm and aid rest blue it’s no wonder blue is a popular choice for bedroom interiors.

Here are our collection picks to help you introduce it into your bedroom scheme.

Chic navy stripe bedlinen

New for this season, our Biarittz one line Navy bed linen features a chic line stitch of navy on both the duvet and pillowcases. Effortlessy chic, it’s a reassuringly thick 320 thread count percale cotton, which gives it a slightly matt finish and a cooler feel. Perfect for introducing a timeless feel to your bedrooms for spring when you want a fresh clean look.

Bring in textures

A warm woollen throw, in the softest merino lambswool, makes an instant addition to bring in blue hues. Woven especially for us in the UK, we’ve designed our Kendal range to be soft, not scratchy like some wool throws can often be, and they come with a classic herringbone weave and fringe detail. Choose from Marine Blue, Navy Blue and Smoke Blue, draped across your bed or thrown casually or over a chair they add a pop of blue hue in a flash and are just the thing for cosying up until the warmer weather arrives. Or try our Monaco blue throw in angora lambswool blend - it feels like cashmere and is a perfect blue for brightening up your bedroom.

Add cushions

Don’t forget to use cushions to add colour, easily interchangeable and much less of an investment than painting your walls, a cushion or two can make an instant update to your bedroom look. Think like a boutique hotel and add two or three on top of your pillows for a stylish finish. Our Kendal cushions match our throws and come with a feather filled pad for maximum comfort.
